Congratulations for OTAKI!!!!

On Sunday 12 Aug after church, several of the Otaki Meadows congregation, and lots of friends and family, invaded the Highway Baptist church premises. Trays of food poured out of cars as we prepared for the monumentous occasion of baptizing 6 new Christians. Excitement was high, and tears of joy flowed as each one shared what had led them to this important step of faith. After it all we celebrated with fellowship and a feast before tidying up and heading home.

Also a BIG Congratulations to Robin & Tanya Doyle on the birth of Darby on Fri 15 August and also to Dean & Pippa Hinton on the birth of Benjamin on Wed 10 September!!!!!!

Global Impact Conference Auckland

Global Impact Conference, run by Pastors Peter and Bev Mortlock is a conference at City Impact Church Auckland which challenges and inspires you and your church to go to a new level in God.

This year a group of six including Sam, Michelle, Hilary, Tim, Chris and Me (Rachel) took to the airplane and flew to Auckland for an amazing four days. We stayed with Michelle’s parents who were so kind and generous for putting up with us for the week. This was my second year going to the conference but Hilary, Tim and Chris had never been to Auckland and it was great showing them sights in Auckland.

At the conference there were four different speakers from around the world.

  • Reverend Kong Hee (Singapore)
  • Bishop David Evans (America)
  • Evangelist Chris Hill (America)
  • Pastor Ashley Evans (Australia)

Personally I was completely amazed by the final days of the conference. On Thursday night Bishop David Evans spoke on Elijah and the mantle that he gave to his son Elisha, this message was Pastor Bev Mortlock’s message for Friday afternoon. So she went home that night and decided to go deeper into the story about the sword, the arrows and the cloak but that Friday morning Chris Hill spoke on her message, and once again she had nothing to speak on. Truly the presence of God was there.

It was great being at a bigger church to see how they ran it, also knowing that we were in a building that cost 14million to build and was made by many members of the church.
